Talib Kweli has made his mark through the underground hip-hop scene as well as distinguishing himself all the way through US mainstream. But 2007 plans to be a huge year for the BK MC.After working out a deal with Warner Music to distribute his own label Blacksmith Music in 2006, the official releases are just around the corner.First off, Blacksmith’s artist roster consists of :Jean Grae (pka What? What?)Strong Arm Steady; Mitchy Slick, Krondon & Phil the AgonyTalib KweliA mixtape has been released late in 2006 boasting tracks from each of the above mentioned artists with featurings from Planet Asia, 9th Wonder, MF Doom & many more.A mini-album has been released on January 1st and was available for free download on Blacksmith Music’s website for a short period of time. This album consists of a collaboration between Talib Kweli & producer/mc Madlib titled properly “Liberation”.The first official release of the label will be Kweli’s long-awaited “Eardrum” which is still slated for an early 2007 release.
