Spotted over @ Mixtape Maestro. Slakah the Beatchild, the Toronto-based singer/producer behind one of my favorite projects, Art of Fresh, recently released a track, video AND remix off his BBE album Soul Movement vol. 1. First off, the track Enjoy Ya Self is self-explanatory in themes as it touches the feel-good vibes of love and happiness of soul music. The Neo-soul vibes of the beat combines with Beatchild’s smooth vocals, reminiscent of Raphael Saadiq with tons of feel-good name dropping including the likes of Marvin Gaye, ATCQ, De La Soul & Pete Rock & CL SMooth. The video is your typical sunny day/house party video bringing the good vibes to visual representation. The remix features much talked about T-Dot representative/Young Money signee Drake.
