Staff review
While this album certainly isn't new by any stretch of the imagination, we're writting a review anyway.
"Peace Love Death Metal" is the debut album of the Eagles of Death Metal, the product of Jesse Hughes and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme. Josh in past interviews has insisted that Jesse is the leader of the band and he's just the man behind the drums.
Guest appearances on this album featured the likes of Tim Vanhamel (dEUS, Millionaire, Evil Superstars), Brody Dalle (ex-The Distillers, Spinerette), Nick Oliveri (ex-Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss, The Dwarves, Mondo Generator), and Alain Johannes & Natasha Shneider (Eleven, Queens of the Stone Age, Desert Sessions).
This album is incredible. Word is that it was recorded all in three days and yet doesn't seemed rushed at all. In fact, there is a interesting energy to the whole album.
Perhaps the only complaint I've heard about the album, which doesn't me in particular, was that it featured a lot of hooks throughout the album.
Bottom line, just a fun rock and roll album and a soundtrack to my bad dancing when no one's looking.
