Erykah Badu has distinguished herself from your common (no pun intended) r&b/soul singer. Longing more into nu-soul, hip-hop and funk, Badu established herself as the trend maker of soul music. This album is no different. "New Amerykah" is a well crafted album by an artist who takes part in every process of the creation. She personally surrounded herself with producers of the likes of 9th Wonder ("Honey"), Madlib on several tracks, Shafiq Husain from SA-RA, Karriem Riggins and a special song by the late great Dilla.
No tour dates have been announced yet but the video for the first single "Honey" has been out for a while. This video is simply amazing: Erykah crate digging and stumbling on some well known albums with a slight difference.
