Frightened? Yeah, me too. I'll explain this later.
IT'S TOO EASY

NEWS I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT BUT IS WORTH MENTIONING
ROCK AND ROLL IS NOT ABOUT SAFETY
From Music News:
Thousands of fans were forced to temporarily flee a concert by Queens Of The Stone Age in Australia Friday night when a stage light overheated, filling the venue with smoke. Hobart City Hall was cleared just before the band was due to take to the stage.
"The evacuation of the packed out venue was achieved with minimal effort that was made a lot easier by the cooperation of the patrons and abundance of emergency exit doors in the hall," the fire department said.
Fans waited while firefighters fixed the problem — the light had overheated, melting its cover. The concert managed to start just 20 minutes late.
Josh Homme is God. What? You wanted something witty?
I LISTEN TO IT TO CURE MY INSOMNIA
From Music News:
A British survey from hotel chain Travelodge has shown that Coldplay is the music of choice for people trying to get to sleep.
The band topped a poll asking over 2,000 people which music they used to help them sleep. James Blunt, Snow Patrol, Take That and Norah Jones made up the top five.
Travelodge said: "The research shows that we are increasingly relying on slow, sleepy music and unchallenging books to take our minds off the pressures of modern living, to help us switch off and get to sleep at night. Coldplay seem to hit just the right spot among Britain's insomniacs."
The study showed that 87% of those questioned no longer used the traditional method of counting sheep. Women got to sleep by running through tasks they needed to do the next day, while men favored counting their money as they drifted off.
Coldplay is the musical NyQuil. I wonder if Coldplay counts their money to help them sleep, as suggested by poll.
HANG IT UP ALREADY
From Billboard.com:
Neil Diamond's second album with producer Rick Rubin will be out on May 6th on Columbia Records, and features a duet with the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines on the track "Another Day (That Time Forgot)." The album is led by the single "Pretty Amazing Grace".
As with 2005's 12 Songs, in addition to Rubin, Diamond collaborated with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and keyboardist Benmont Tench on Home After Dark. A new addition to the lineup this time is guitarist Matt Sweeney, best known for fronting indie rock outfit Chavez.
The album will be available in a deluxe edition with a four-song DVD of Diamond performing tracks live in the studio. Among them is a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Boxer," which is not on the album.
Diamond begins an international tour May 24th in Rotterdam, Holland, and is expected to hit North America later this summer.
My only beef with Neil Diamond is that he wrote that fucking "Heart of Gold" song. I fucking hate that song.
From Blabbermouth:
Recently reunited alternative rock band Stone Temple Pilots have announced additional tour dates to their 65 city tour that will start in May and run into November.
The band has also commented on the possiblity of a new record after the tour. In an interview with MTV.com, frontman Scott Weiland said, " The whole record machine is fucked up now, so we really want to get to a place of having some freedom, because we have a lot of leverage."
"We have sold almost 40 million records, and we're in a position of power. We want to be free agents, whether it's putting our records out ourselves, or doing some interesting, very creative deal with a nontraditional major record label. The system as it is now ... that formula does not work. We've seen it; we'll need to do things differently, do things wiser," Weiland added.
The band looks to write about 100 songs before tracking the new album, bassist Robert DeLeo added.
Another band I just don't care. Plus they're a tad overhyped. 100 songs? Oh dear. Thay way they can cookie cut out albums. Sort of like Nickleback.
IT'S SORT OF "FEEL GOOD OF HIT OF THE SUMMER" RELATED, BUT NOT ENOUGH THAT I CAN CALL IT AS SUCH
From Billboard.com:
Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty was jailed today for 14 weeks for breaching terms of his probation, his record label said.
Adrian Hunter, Doherty's manager, commented that there were many reasons why Doherty was jailed, including "his latecoming at probation hearings," he told Reuters.
The frontman has been battling with drug addiction and going in and out of court over his drug problems.
When asked if Doherty will appeal the sentence, Hunter said, "That is in the hands of the lawyers at the moment. I can't comment on that."
The joke was in the title. Sorry.

Christ, that picture is creepy. Okay, time to explain.
THE WORST WAY TO STAY IN THE NEWS
From 411mania:
Former rapper Vanilla Ice was arrested in Palm Beach County, Florida on Thursday night for domestic battery. Ice's wife called authorities and said that he had hit and kicked her. When police arrived, Ice was two blocks away from the home on his motorcycle.
Ice's wife did change her story when police arrived, saying that he had pushed her, not hit or kicked her. She also told them she wants a divorce.
"He started yelling at me for going out to buy a bedroom set. In front of my daughter," she told a deputy, according to the arrest report. "I'm sorry I can't say any more until I talk to an attorney."
Ice told deputies that he and his wife had been arguing since the previous day, leading him to tell her "You're nuts!" He said his wife is bipolar and takes medication but still has irrational and argumentative episodes. He denied pushing his wife, according to the report.
Of course, Ice was arrested for domestic battery back in 2004 as well.
Ice, come on, can't you write another rap song and illegally use a sample from a hit song to stay in the headlines? Yeah, that was cheap, I know. Register to our forums and write your own joke!
