Stranger Than Fiction Week 22
This week has been dismal for news. I know Fake’s busy and I have to assume Half Baked is busy too, but damn. I mean, I’ve got almost nothing here. I pull up my notes for STF and I’ve only got a handful of stories! This won’t take up enough time while my porn downloads! Well, let’s see what I can do.
Before I get to the music news I’d like to say that UFC 85 was steaming donkey turd.
GUITAR HERO, I HARDLY KNEW THEE
Well, everyone who’s anyone in the music or game business has let you know that Metallica is getting their own Guitar Hero game. So, we get Aerosmith and Metallica, but no Led Zeppelin or Slayer? Where’s the justice?
WE AT THE MUSIC TANK HAVE BEST COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS
I’ve probably mentioned that I’ve been at a standstill with posting news because of interest. I might have to start posting Wombstretcha news [not that's a bad thing] and give our host it’s first test. Anyway, he already beat me to punch on the Reel Big Fish news bit. Also, I complained about the lack of a pitch box like the old layout had and he told me it was the “Except” box. Looking at this program again, there is a “Excerpt” box, so I hope that’s it.
RAKING IT IN
From Billboard:
Even with the tour being set back due to undisclosed health issues that guitarist Eddie Van Halen had, the Van Halen reunion tour grossed more than $93 million.
Not only did the reunion tour gross more than $93 million, but over 1 million people went to the 74 shows that the band did.
The shows marked the first time Roth had performed with the band in more than 23 years. Van Halen’s handlers say it was the top-grossing tour in the band’s history.
And although sources say some kind of document of the tour, possibly a live DVD, has been discussed, nothing has yet been finalized.
$93 million? Damn. I wonder how much that would taste…
AMY WINEHOUSE REPORT
As per usual, Amy’s up to some random tom foolery. This week, she’s sung a racist song that magically made it’s way to the Internet and is causing scandal! I can’t be bothered to get the link because I’m sort of sick of using her as filler.
That concludes a rather asstacular week in music. Next week will be better, it always is. Drive safe!

I have indeed been quite busy lately. All this should clear up in around 10 days as I will start my vacations and will be able to focus on random music world news stories. It saddens me to leave the Tank aside, I’d rather be blogging but I can’t.
