A Kid named Cudi
A-Trak & Nick Catchdubs’ Fools Gold record label have been everywhere in the past year or so. So it’s no big surprise to find up-and-coming rapper/genre-blending artist Kid Cudi signed over there. After the proeminent release of Cudi’s “Day ‘N Nite” single and the bangin’ Crookers remix, Kid Cudi went on to collaborate with a lot of artists. Appearing on 88 Keys’ “Adam’s Case Files” mixtape, the Cleveland-native, Brooklyn-based MC didn’t let fans wait long before assembling a mixtape just for our ears. The project was put together by Plain Pat & Emile and features guest spots by Wale & Crookers and loads of original new songs as well as Kid Cudi versions of such song as N.E.R.D.’ “Spazz”.

88 Keys - Adam’s Case Files
I’ve been a fan of 88 Keys ever since the goold old Rawkus days where he added production on notable projects like the now legendary Black Star album and Mos Def’s debut “Black on Both Sides”. Now preparing his debut feature length album titled “The death of Adam”, 88 Keys is giving us a taste of his always soulful production on “Adam’s Case Files” mixtape. While the album is stillmonths away from a release (possible October release), the album is being executive produced by Chi-Town’s finest: Kanye West.
The here mixtape features a load of guests including the afore-mentioned Kid Cudi, Tanya Morgan, Grafh & Guilty Simpson. A quality mixtape perfect to chill out to.
Download after the jump.
